Stihl Offers New Lithium-Ion Cut-off Machine

Stihl is introducing its Lithium-Ion TSZ 230 Cutquik cut-off machine which, the company says, delivers maneuverablity and solid cutting performance in a lightweight, compact package. Stihl tsa230_act_004-(1)Wet cutting is made easier with onboard water connection and control which suppresses dust. Dry cutting in dust-sensitive areas is aided by an available depth guide with vacuum adapter. The 8.6-lb. (without battery and abrasive wheel)  machine can complete a variety of tasks, says Daniel Pherson, Stihl product manager. And its “quick startups, excellent balance, and portability make it easy to use.”

The new cut-off machine is fueled by a low-maintenance, brushless, commercial-grade high torque electric motor, creating little noise. Low vibration and the lightweight design help reduce operator fatigue and increase maneuverability, while providing the power needed to get light hardscaping and construction jobs done. This first-of-its-kind tool eliminates the need for fuel, saving users money and minimizing required maintenance, the company says. And the battery power provides up to 15 minutes of performance, with no gradual drop in power.
