Hyundai Expands Excavator Line

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas has expanded its excavator line, adding the new compact-radius model HX145LCR. The new machine provides up to 10 percent better fuel economy and 5 percent increase in productivity compared to previous models.

Designed for working in confined spaces, it has a tail swing radius of just 4 ft. 11 in.

When equipped with an 8 ft. 2 in. arm, the HX145LCR achieves a maximum dig depth of 18 ft. 1 in. and maximum digging reach of 27 ft. 3 in., and provides bucket digging force of 24,890 lbf (11 290 kgf).

Standard equipment an 8-inch interactive, adjustable, touchscreen cluster-monitor in the cab. Viewable on the monitor is the Hyundai-exclusive AAVM – or All-Around View Monitoring – an optional system that provides a 360-degree surround virtual operating view. Included in AAVM is the IMOD (Intelligent Moving Object Detection) system that senses and warns the operator when objects come within 16.5 feet of the machine.

The redesigned cab optimizes space and operator convenience through enhanced climate-control, reduced in-cab sound level, heated operator’s seat with standard air suspension and integrated console.

An improved hydraulic system includes an innovative Boom Float mode for better grading control, Fine Swing mode for improved load control when swinging, and up to 13-percent faster cycle speeds than previous models. The HX145L also features IPC (Intelligent Power Control) computer-aided power optimization based on load demand, and Eco Breaker mode for selectable pump flow and improved fuel consumption when working with Hyundai hydraulic breakers and many other attachments. The combination of faster cycle times and more power result in productivity increases of up to 5 percent.
