Adam Hailey shares news about the Tech Pro diagnostic unit that will be available in early 2018.

Genie experts at Terex AWP recently hosted a select group of editors at its Oklahoma City manufacturing facility to introduce new XC models as well as its Tech Pro Link maintenance tool.

It can access gauges, fault settings and machine settings as well as many other parameters in an easy-to-use, handheld unit, says Adam Hailey, director of product management at Genie.

“It extends the control system of the lift,” he says, which is a Genie designed control system specifically for Genie Lift models. While the unit featured at the event was wired into the lift, when the models are introduced in early 2018, they will be Bluetooth Wifi-enabled.

The tool has a magnetic back, helping operators use it hands-free, and a small light to assist in working in dark areas.

More information will be available closer to launch; sources report its purchase price will be in the $400 range.
