Equipment experts responding to this issue’s call for insight on tool carriers resoundingly recommend that adding tool carriers and attachments are an economical way to expand an equipment rental fleet while opening rental opportunities to end users.

The ability to send out a couple of attachments with a skid steer, compact track loader or articulated wheel loader rental opens up the opportunity to solve customer needs and concerns while increasing rental rates for the rental center. A machine that can do more than one job on a job site will chalk up more hours, may result in a longer rental and help renters be even more productive.

In today’s tight job market, helping renters do more with fewer people can help them be more productive and in turn profitable. Further, if it pencils out to save them money, they are less likely to balk at slightly higher rental rates. That means rental centers win as well.

Take this issue’s rental center, A1 Rent It in the Minneapolis suburbs as an example. While Chad Wagner rents equipment that is less than 10,000 pounds, attachments make the compact equipment he offers more attractive to customers.  He further increases interest in equipment by providing a small trailer for $5 to literally carry the tool to their job site. It’s one way to solve a customer need of transporting equipment to the job site and gain favor with customers when it comes to repeat business.
