Big Toys at the ICUEE Show

There were a couple of  "big kid toys" to capture your attention at the recent ICUEE (International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition) in Louisville last week.  Ditch Witch's Super Witch roared to life a couple of times each day and a highlight in Kohler's booth was an "oh-would-I-like-to-have-that" upfitted UTV.

super witch at icueeThe Super Witch - this is the company's seventh iteration of the monster trencher - has an 850 hp, 502 cu in Chevy engine. Sure, you're tempted to ask "Why would you build such a beast?" but the real question should be "Why not?"  The Super Witch can trench about 100 feet per minute, certainly a boon to job site productivity. But I expect it's more fun to rev this machine up and pop a few wheelies. Even during the steady rain on the show's opening morning last week, this machinery marvel was able to stand on its hind legs and roar.

kohler upfitted utvFor those looking for an ultimate work-time/play-time UTV, Kohler had a great candidate in its booth.  What started out in life as a Polaris Brutus now featured a 1.9 liter Kohler KDI1903TCR diesel engine, black diamond plating, a monster 500-watt sound system, trail tires up front, tracks in the back, built-in Kohler generator, concealed welder and air compressor, enough LED flood lights to turn night into day, plus tool boxes and a hydration station with, of course, a Kohler faucet.

Only thing better than seeing it would have been a test ride across a few of the slick spots in the show's equipment demonstration area!
