JLG Acquires Power Towers

JLG has acquired Power Towers Ltd., a low-level access equipment manufacturer based in Leicester, UK. Power Towers currently offers seven lift models, both self-propelled and push around, that are rated for indoor and, in some cases, outdoor use.

“This important acquisition strengthens our existing portfolio of low level access lifts and demonstrates our commitment to the European market,” said Frank Nerenhausen, JLG Industries president.

"The longer-term plan is to introduce Power Towers products to our global distribution network, but for now, it's difficult to say when Power Towers products will be available in the U.S.," commented Paul Kreutzwiser, Global Category Director, Scissors/Verticals, JLG Industries, Inc.

Power Towers employs about 30 people, all of whom will be retained through the acquisition. “We are excited to be joining JLG,” said Brian King, managing director of Power Towers. “It gives Power Towers the opportunity to realize its manufacturing potential and sales potential via JLG’s network while staying true to our position as pioneers in the industry.”

With the acquisition of Power Towers, JLG expands its low level access portfolio, which currently includes push around and self-propelled mast lifts and stock pickers, and the LiftPod line of personal portable lifts.

“JLG and Power Towers share a common culture of innovation, simplification, and ethical business practices. We look forward to sharing these products with our customers,” said Karel Huijser, JLG’s vice president and general manager - EMEA.
