Ritchie Bros. Sets Record With 2015 Auction Sales
Ritchie Bros. announced that it posted a record $4.25 billion in equipment and truck sales at its auctions in 2015. In a recent blog post, the company said it had more than 47,000 consignors and more than half a million bidders at 345 live unreserved auctions and on its online auction marketplace last year.
The blog noted that the company introduced online bidding in 2002 and launched its EquipmentOne.com in 2013. The online bidding services recorded $1.9 billion in sales - about 45% of the company's total sales for 2015. EquipmentOne accounted for $116 million in sales.
Several auction sites set records. Orlando, Florida had a record 10,500+ lots sold for $179 million. Sales in Fort Worth and Houston, Texas posted site records of $280 million and $238 million, respectively.
The company has more than 90 live unreserved auctions scheduled for this year, with the first auction coming on January 28.
