Dixie Diamond Merges with Concut; adds regional managers

Top U.S.-owned diamond tool manufacturers have united.

Dixie Diamond Manufacturing of Lilburn, Georgia, and Concut Inc. of Kent, Washington, have joined forces to create a combined entity with a national presence. Both are family-owned businesses with long histories of success in the manufacture of diamond blades, core bits and equipment. Together, they constitute the largest American-owned diamond tool manufacturer in North America.

The merger realizes long-held goals of the management of both companies. Greg and Garrett Wolters of Dixie Diamond, and Jim Mayer of Concut, had each recognized the potential benefits of bringing their two companies together. Both businesses have grown rapidly in recent years and have sought opportunities to provide greater value to customers. With manufacturing facilities on separate coasts, sales representatives in different states and complementary product lines, there is a natural fit between the two organizations. “We have combined the two most dynamic companies in the industry. There will be significant advantages for our customers as well as growth opportunities for our employees,” Mayer says.

With the recent merger of Dixie Diamond and Concut, Garrett Wolters and Mayer will focus on introducing customers in the region to the company’s expanded product line of diamond blades, core bits, equipment and accessories.

Garry Henderson has joined the company as regional sales manager for the East Coast. In his new role, Henderson will lead the firm’s regional sales team in working with professional sawing and drilling contractors as well as with distribution partners throughout the eastern states. Most recently, Hednerson served as the southeast regional sales manager for ICS and has also held positions at Hilti, Penhall Diamond Products and the Penhall Company.

Don Nielsen has been appointed the regional sales manager for the central U.S. Over the past three years, Don has worked for Dixie Diamond Manufacturing as the sales representative for Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota, and will now oversee the company’s sales efforts in a 15-state territory. Nielsen has more than 10 years of experience in the concrete cutting industry as an operator, dispatcher and superintendent.
