Next Decade One of  Housing's Strongest 
According to research by the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) with new household formations predicted to be between 13.9 million and 15.9 million by 2024, the U.S. will see one of its strongest housing markets in history. The housing demand surge will be driven by Hispanics, Baby Boomers, and Millennials.

Terex AWP Appoints Regional Sales Manager
Ken Doan is the new regional sales manager for Terex Aerial Work Platforms, covering southern Texas, including Houston, Beaumont, Victoria, Corpus Christi and the Valley.Doan will be responsible for supporting customers and the development, execution and growth of Genie product sales in this region. 

New Home Sales Continue Improving
The July numbers for new home sales, up 5.4% from June and nearly 26% from July 2014, indicate that the housing market continues to improve, says David Crowe, chief economist for the National Association of Home Builders. Still, he notes, that puts annual new home sales on pace to hit 507,000 - about half way back to what the industry considers a normal year.

Finning, IronPlanet Expand CatAuction Services
IronPlanet and Finning International Inc.have agreed to jointly market used heavy equipment through Cat Auction Services, IronPlanet’s unreserved  auction marketplace. Finning will be hosting IronPlanet’s first Canadian Cat Auction Services live unreserved public auction on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Club Car Offering Buy Now/Pay Later Plan
Club Car is offering a "Bank on Carryall" event through  Dec. 31, 2015, where qualified buyers can buy a new 2015 or 2016 Carryall utility vehicle with no payments for six months. Special leasing terms are available as well. 

Takeuchi Announces New Southeast Regional Business Manager
Steve DePriest has been hired as Southeast Regional Business Manager for Takeuchi. New to the company, DePriest brings with him more than 15 years of experience in construction equipment. Core responsibilities include managing dealer relationships, developing new and existing markets, assisting with inventories, and directing sales planning and program promotions.

Home Construction: "Modest Reasons to Be Optimistic"
Recent home construction data, with July single-family starts up 13% and the Builder Confidex Index hitting a 10-year high in August, "offer modest reasons to be optimistic, although risks remain", writes NAHB chief economist David Crowe.

EDGE Now Primary Brand Name, Phasing Out CE Attachments
Since the merger of Compact Equipment Attachments, Inc. (CE Attachments, Inc.) into Manitou Americas, Inc. in 2013, EDGE has emerged as the primary brand name associated with the attachment needs for Gehl and Mustang products. Over the course of the next few months, the “CE Attachment” name will be removed from EDGE branded products and replaced exclusively with the EDGE brand name, the company announced.

Bobcat, Doosan Expand West Fargo HQ
Bobcat and Doosan have started a $9.5 million expansion project at the company headquarters in West Fargo, North Dakota. Company officials say the expansion to the existing facility will help accommodate growth, drive innovation and improve operations, which are all key to maintaining global leadership.

Durante Rentals Earns Inc. 5000 for Third Straight Year
Inc. Magazine has ranked Durante Rentals #1869 (#91 in Construction) on its 34th annual Inc. 5000 List, an exclusive ranking of the nation's 5000 fastest-growing privately owned companies.This most recent nomination is the third year in a row Durante Rentals has made the prestigious list – a difficult feat for any growing company. Durante Rentals was ranked #2098 in 2014 and #1879 in 2013 respectively.

Nickell Rental Earns Spot on Inc. 5000
Inc. magazine ranked Nickell Rental No. 4776 on its 34th annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. “We are very proud of being honored on this list. There were some tough years recently in the Georgia construction industry we had to endure. Takeuchi-US Plans New Distribution Facility in Georgia
Takeuchi-US is expanding its Pendergrass, Georgia operations by building a new distribution facility on their existing campus. The new facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015, and will bring new employment opportunities to the area.

Kubota Has Grand Opening at New Kansas Distribution Facility
Kubota Tractor Corporation announced the grand opening of its 765,000 square-foot North American Distribution Center in Edgerton, Kansas, which will serve as the primary distribution hub for Kubota parts and whole goods distribution across the U.S. and Canada. The company expects to hire 100 employees by the end of 2015.

Propane-Powered Turf Equipment in Research and Demonstration Program
Propane-powered turf equipment is maintaining the fairways, greens, and rough at eight U.S. golf courses selected to participate in an inaugural research program with the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). The Council, R&R Products and Audubon International partnered with the courses to test emissions-reducing propane equipment for demonstration purposes as well as research. 

Star Rentals Adds Hy-Brid Lifts 
Custom Equipment, Inc. announced that Seattle-based Star Rentals will carry its line of HB-1230 Hy-Brid Lifts. Star Rentals rents, sells and services Hy-Brid Lifts in 18 locations in Washington and Oregon. 

KWIPPED Online Equipment Rental Launches RentNOW
KWIPPED Inc., a startup, online B2B equipment rental marketplace, has launched RentNOW, which lets suppliers upload pre-priced rental inventory so companies can secure equipment in real-time using the KWIPPED website. KWIPPED said RentNOW has been launched with over 1,000 products spanning 100 individual equipment categories.

Public Construction Spending Increases, Private Spending Dips
The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce reported that construction spending during June 2015 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1,064.6 billion, 0.1 percent (±1.5%)* above the revised May estimate of $1,063.5 billion. The June figure is 12.0 percent (±2.1%) above the June 2014 estimate of $950.3 billion.

July Shows Rebound for Dodge Momentum Index
The Dodge Momentum Index rose to 125.3 in July, up 5.4% from its June reading, according to Dodge Data & Analytics. The Momentum Index is a monthly measure of the first (or initial) report for nonresidential building projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for nonresidential buildings by a full year.

Deere Donates Excavator For River Cleanup
More than one million pounds of garbage will be removed from the Ohio River by the end of this year, with the work accomplished by Chad Pregracke and Living Lands and Waters using a John Deere 210G LC excavator designed for the task.

Generac Adds Exec VP of Global Engineering
Generac Power Systems announced that it is growing its engineering team and strengthening the company’s ongoing commitment to product line diversification and globalization, hiring Patrick Forsythe as executive vice president of global engineering, reporting directly to company CEO Aaron Jagdfeld.

Skyjack Appoints New VP
Skyjack has appointed Steve Headden as vice president of sales - used and reconditioned equipment, to help facilitate sales of used equipment from dealers. Headden, who has more than 25 years of experience in the AWP industry, held a similar role at another company before moving into the newly created position at Skyjack.

Midwest Equipment Sales Expands With New Warehouse
|Midwest Equipment Sales (MWE) is relocating to a new 193,700 sq ft facility on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. The new facility will allow MWE to expand its aftermarket tracks, tires and undercarriage parts inventory. With this expansion and warehouses in Dallas, Tex. and Seattle, Wash., the company expects to provide faster fill rates and better pricing because it can acquire inventory in greater volume. 

Rental and Construction Equipment Auction Results Softening
Auction results for June 2015 softened for a third consecutive month, according to the Rouse Rental Report. June auction sales of the equipment Rouse tracks were 9.2% lower than the organization's May Forced Liquidation Values (FLV). Year-to-date, though, the company called the auction results "balanced" at 2.9% below Rouse FLV. 

Monthly, YTD Leasing and Finance Volume Grows
The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) released the Monthly Leasing and Finance Index (MLFI-25) for June showing new business volume was up year over year, month to month and up year-to-date for 2015. 

Terex Offering Q3 Financing Programs
Terex is offering a limited-time special 0% financing rates on its skid steer loader, compact track loader, compact excavator and compact wheel loader models. Depending on the model, it's offering cash discounts of $3,000 to $10,000 in lieu of interest-free financing.This program is available through September 30, 2015.
